  • NEW EMAIL SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION - 1 DECEMBER 2008
    Please be informed that University is implementing a new email system based on
    Microsoft Exchange platform effective 1st December 2008.  Users will be able to
    access the new email system through MS-Outlook client or using browser based
    Outlook Web Access (OWA).

    The MS-Outlook software has been installed on user's computer on 10th - 27th
    November 2008.  The new email system is also accessible using the address
    http://uummail.uum.edu.my.

    User Name (user id) for each user is the same as existing email id.  The login
    format is staf\[email id].  eg; staf\ahmad (ahmad is the email id)

    Password is the same as User Name (user id)  EXCEPT for those using myBox and
    myLab applications. Users are strongly advised to change their password
    immediately for security reasons.

    The existing email system (http://e-web.uum.edu.my) still can be accessed to
    view old emails.  However users will not be able to send and receive emails
    through this system effective 1st December 2008.  This E-web system will be
    retained until 31st January 2009.

    Adalah dimaklumkan bahawa Universiti telah melaksanakan sistem emel baru mulai
    1 Disember 2008 menggunakan plaform Microsoft Exchange.  Pengguna mempunyai
    pilihan mengakses sistem emel tersebut  menerusi MS-Outlook atau Outlook Web
    Access (OWA) menggunakan browser.

    Perisian MS-Outlook ini telah dipasang di komputer pengguna oleh staf Pusat
    Komputer pada 10 - 27 November 2008.  Pengguna juga mempunyai pilihan untuk
    mengakses emel menggunakan browser melalui alamat     http://uummail.uum.edu.my.

    User Name (user id) untuk login bagi setiap pengguna adalah sama seperti emel
    sedia ada    . Format login adalah staf\[emel id].
    Contohnya; staf\ahmad (ahmad adalah emel id pengguna)

    Password adalah SAMA seperti User Name (user id)  KECUALI  untuk pengguna yang
    pernah menggunakan aplikasi myBox dan myLab.  Pengguna adalah diminta supaya
    menukar password secepat mungkin atas sebab-sebab keselamatan.

    Sistem emel sedia ada (    http://e-web.uum.edu.my) masih lagi boleh digunakan
    untuk menyemak emel lama.  Walau bagaimanapun sistem ini tidak dapat lagi
    digunakan untuk menerima dan menghantar emel mulai 1 Disember 2008.  Sistem
    E-web ini akan dibuka sehingga 31 Januari 2009.
